SLIDING ROCK FALLS
Sliding Rock is a waterfalls located in the Pisgah National Forest near the town of Brevard. The U.S. Forest Service has developed the area and maintains it. There is a lifeguard on duty because the 60-foot slide dumps you into an 8-foot-deep pool of water. Sliding Rock is closed to sliders during high water or whenever lightning is detected in the area. During the summer, the cool mountain water is a great way to cool off. The Forest Service does charge a $1.00 per person entry fee, but you can have lots of fun for that dollar.
